47 Civil Legal Aid Summer Fellows placed for 2026

FFLA will fund 47 Civil Legal Aid Summer Fellowships in 2026. The program, through which law students spend 10 weeks working at a legal aid grantee organization, provides a $9,000 stipend to each fellow, in addition to extra funds to grantees to cover payroll taxes.

The Florida Bar Family Law Section made a donation of $59,400 to provide funding for six fellows working in family law programs. One-hundred and seven students from 17 law schools applied.

More than 450 law students have completed summer fellowships since the program was established in 1995. Many have gone on to careers in legal aid, including four of last year’s summer fellows who now work for FFLA grantee organizations.
