Abraham R. Brown has been awarded the 1993 Medal of Honor for a Non-Lawyer in recognition of his outstanding contributions to improving the administration of justice in Florida through his inspired and tireless efforts to address the spiritual needs of those confined to penal institutions.
Founder and chief executive officer of Prison Crusade Ministries, Abe Brown has helped to turn around the lives of men and women in Florida’s prisons and high crime districts, convincing them and others that no one is without hope or beyond redemption. A true leader by example, he has, throughout his career, striven to imbue in people a sense of their own worth and of their value to their community.
Teacher, coach, counselor, Abe Brown has taken on himself and has inspired countless others to answer the cries of those in need with love and support surrounding their hearts, minds and souls. It is with deep gratitude for his service that we honor him.
