Ft. Lauderdale lawyer Robert W. Murphy appointed to Foundation board

Bob MurphyFt. Lauderdale lawyer Robert W. Murphy has been appointed by the Florida Supreme Court to serve a three-year term on the board of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice. His term will begin July 1, 2022.

Murphy is a lawyer at his firm, Murphy Law Firm, where his practice is focused on consumer rights. He earned his juris doctor from the University of Florida College of Law. Since 2001, he has been a member of The Florida Bar’s Consumer Protection Law Committee and served as its chair from 2004 to 2006.

Murphy is a member of the Foundation’s Advocate’s Society for lifetime giving, having donated more than $415,000 through the facilitation of multiple cy pres awards.

The Florida Bar Foundation accomplishes its mission by funding programs that expand and improve representation and advocacy on behalf of low-income persons in civil legal matters, improve the fair and effective administration of justice, and promote public service among lawyers.

In December 2023, The Florida Bar Foundation changed its name to FFLA. Posts prior to this date contain our former name.
