Breakfast and Books – Funding will provide reading materials and mentors to every student of PACE Centers for Girls, Immokalee, to assist them in achieving their reading/academic goals and improve their self-esteem.

CBA Community Law Project – Funding for this project will address the senior citizens and families in Belle Glade, Delray Beach, Riviera Beach and West Palm Beach who have not had access to legal representation to make end of life decisions.

Parents’ School Passport Program -“A Parent Participation Incentive” – Funding will be provided to partner with the Lockhart Elementary School to provide incentives to parents to volunteer and participate in curriculum planning decisions and increase the number of parents who participate in Parent/Teacher Asso. Meetings.

Funding will be provided for Law Day 2008 which is designed to educate the public, with an emphasis on the education of children, abaout the rules of law and its importance to society.

Conosca Sus Derechos aka Know Your Rights – Funding will be used to use bar member volunteers to participate in quarterly events to outreach to the Spanish speaking community about their rights in various areas of the law.

Street Law After School: Funding will be provided to conduct and Street-Law after school program to educate low-income children about what constitutes a criminal offense and the consequences of committing a crime.

The Lee County Bar Association Pro Bono Initiative – Funding will be used to promote pro bono work in Lee County to the judicial leadership; senior/managing partners; law firms; and a community pro bono clinic.

Annual Constitution Week Project – Funding will be used to educate children in Martin County about the Constitution and how our government works under the Constitution working with the Justice Teaching program.

Low Income Legal Services Clinic – Funding will be provided for ongoing pro bono legal services to the low income elderly, disabled, and general population in Miami Beach.

Civics Education: Promoting An Independent Judiciary – Funding will be provided for the Ninth Judicial Circuit to demonstrate to students how their judicial independence relates to imposing sentencing on those convicted of DUI in their respective courtrooms.

Mediation Week: Poster Contest and Mediation Video – Funding will provided to support a poster contest about the process of mediation and also include supporting a DVD to include information about the Small Claims Pre-Filing Mediation Program.

Domestic Violence Restraining Order Project: Project proposes to train a minimum of 15 of its members to provide representation to a minimum of 25 victims of domestic abuse at restraining order hearings in South Palm Beach County.

CARE – Credit Abuse Resistance Education – Student Outreach Program – Funding will provided to promote the CARE program to young adults in the Tampa Bay Area.

Funding will be provided to reconnect the essential re-entry life skills training to promote successful reintegration of our federal felon population to communities in the Tampa Bar area

Rules & Procedures of Small Claims Court – Funding will be used to develop a pamphlet explaining the rules and procedures of Small Claims Court.

College and University Resource Fair project: High school and middle school age students to be exposed to the colleges and universities, particularly the Historically Black Colleges and Universities of Florida.

Florida’s First Black Lawyers: 1869-1979 project: An education and outreach project that commemorates the history of African American lawyers in the state of Florida through the research, writing, and publication of a book in honor of the pioneering African American attorneys during that time period.

Teen Society Block Party project: To reach at-risk teens in Marion County Florida topromote healthy alternatives to at-risk behavior.

Foreclosure Legal Assistance Project: To provide information and legal advice to homeowners facing foreclosure to empower and enable them to proceed pro se and assert and protect their legal rights and defenses.

Phoenix Rehabilitative Initiative: To facilitate the re-entry, stabilization and professional development of women who have begun the process of changing their lives through the pursuit of education
