Affordable Housing Advocacy: To contract with attorneys on a low-fee basis, pay expert witness fees, and contract for temporary support staff to work in the Development of Regional Impact process

To provide educational training programs, legal seminars, publish AIDS legal materials, operate resource libraries, provide legal analysis and information on AIDS issues, and offers legal assistance through a network of lawyers and consultants.

Florida Child Advocacy Initiatives: To expand the impact of the Florida Children’s Campaign; expand their ability to disseminate their publications to a wider audience; to promote the ability of staff to provide technical assistance to appointed commissions, task forces, and committees; and to expand their ability to promote the children’s advocacy agenda before civic, business, professional, religious and governmental groups

Expanding Services to Intergenerational & Diverse: For continued support of statewide law-related projects targeted primarily to elementary and secondary school students to heighten awareness and practical understanding of our law and legal institutions.

History of the Supreme Court of Florida: To produce and publish a definitive history of the Florida Supreme Court, beginning with the territorial courts of appeals and continuing with the history of the Supreme Court of Florida from statehood in 1845 to the present.

Bar Exam Study: To conduct a study into the certification of minority students, with a special focus on whether the current structure or administration of the bar exam presents a level playing field for all students or alternatively, whether unintended, unfair obstacles to entry to the profession are implicated for individuals of color.

Community Coordinator/Aftercare Program: The Aftercare Program will employ a full time community coordinator who will provide continued support and counseling for the youth and his/her family, assist the youth with job placement, establish a job bank, utilize community resources and organize and maintain an alumni association.

Children First: Through a unique joint venture agreement among two legal services providers, two law schools, a school of medicine, and a local bar association, Children First: A Partnership of Law, Medicine and Education, proposes to establish a statewide center for the advancement of children’s legal rights in concert with the enhancement of their medical and educational needs.

1991 Centennial Meeting: For general expenses of the centennial meeting of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws held in Naples, Florida, August 2-9, 1991.; To pay the cost of the court reporter taking transcripts of the “proceedings” section encompassing the general business of the conference.

Bill of Rights in Transit Project: To provide education programs and materials which encourage persons in the local community to undertake a legal career or to participate in various aspects of th law.

Trial Court Performance Standards: To pay the costs of a consultant to research the development of performance standards for trial circuit court judges.

Reporting on the Court and the Law: For costs associated with the presentation of the “Reporting on the Courts and the Law” seminar to teach journalists about the court system and strategies for covering it.

Needs Assessment on children at risk

Older Floridians Handbook/Elder Law Education: For revision and reprinting of The Older Floridians Handbook and to provide travel reimbursement for two commissioners.

Legal Needs Study: For general support of the National Legal Needs Study of Low and Moderate Income households to enhance the ability of the organized bar and individual lawyers to address the legal needs of the moderate income public.

Staff Counsel Project: For support of the Legal Director Project in defense of fundamental rights and to conduct legal rights public education programs to increase the case load throughout the state and broaden the array of cases taken; expand and better utilize the volunteer cooperating attorneys; establish unique principles of law as they relate to the ability of Florida Courts to redress civil right violations.

Lay Representation of Children–Study: To provide a framework for development of a strategic plan for providing Guardian Ad Litem services to Florida’s children over the next ten years.

Prosecutor/Public Defender Skills Advocacy: For partial support of the educational expenses of the Prosecutor/Public Defender Skills Training.

Dissolution/Videotape: To develop and produce a video on the divorce process in Florida. Litigants, especially pro se litigants, will be advised to view the presentation to become more knowledgeable of the role of the parties involved in the process, such as mediators and judges. The video will empower the parties to complete the divorce process with limited stress to the litigants and their families

To provide a bridge grant for general support of the Florida Aids Legal Defense and Education Fund. A portion of the funds will be used to employ administrative support staff.
