High Conflict Divorce Group Intervention: For support of the development of a group intervention and dispute resolution program for high conflict divorced and divorcing parents.

Krome Pro Bono Project: to provide on-site representation in the expedited removal process initiated under the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act.

Jury Service Accessibility for Older Persons: For a study to identify obstacles that prevent Florida’s disabled and senior citizens from participating in the jury system.

Education for Children in Jail: For a comprehensive study to ascertain the level of educational opportunities available to juveniles incarcerated in adult jails.

Building Trust & Confidence in the Legal System: For continued general support and statewide law-related education projects.

Representation of Parents in Dependency Proceeding Training Project: For production of a video tape and training manual to assist court appointed counsel representing indigent parents in dependency proceedings.

Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention: For further development of the Team Child juvenile advocacy programs including an evaluation component.

Identifying Youth with Disabilities upon Entry to the Juvenile Justice System: To research, develop, and produce training materials on disability awareness, specifically as it relates to juveniles and provide training to law enforcement and resource officers, prosecutors, juvenile justice department, and other personnel on identifying children with disabilities so they can be referred to appropriate services.

Self-Administered Grant: For consultant fees and professional services required by the AOJ Subcommittee on Grantmaking Strategies, in the development of a proactive program.

Comprehensive Strategy: To support the services of Jean Logan, Project Consultant, for planning and process evaluation, for implementation of the Comprehensive Strategy in Dade County.

Training for Public Safety Coordinating Councils

Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention: For implementation of Team Child, a demonstration program designed to assist at-risk youths and their families, by linking legal assistance to the poor offices, public defender offices, and volunteer attorneys and law students to advocate for services in an attempt to resolve or ameliorate the underlying causes of delinquent behavior and break the pattern of escalating delinquent behavior.

To support a workshop with approximately 80 judicial branch leaders to examine the various roles and functions assumed by the courts and develop consensus with regard to services and programs beyond adjudication and the court’s constitutional mandates.

Training Initiative: To support training initiative for the law enforcement, legal, and mental health communities.

Focus on the Children (a/k/a High Conflict Divorce group Intervention): Supplemental grant for program coordinator and statistical analysis of Focus on the Children, originally funded by AOJ in 1997-98 for two years.
